New Home Cost Lab is a Good Guys Labs product. During validation, buyers do not create accounts and we do not collect buyer names, email addresses, phone numbers, property addresses, appointments, uploaded contracts, or payment details.
Buyer usage data
We record a random session identifier kept in your browser session and limited product events such as a completed comparison, calculator use, model or community involved, broad price band, and outbound builder click. We do not store your raw IP address in analytics. Temporary rate-limit keys are one-way hashes that expire.
Cost scenarios
When you calculate a scenario, we may store the numeric inputs, selected model identifier, result, timestamp, and anonymous session identifier so we can measure whether the calculator works. Do not enter personal information into numeric fields.
Quote analysis
Quote lines are calculated even if you do not consent to storage. Exact numeric quote lines are stored only when you check the optional anonymous-research box. Do not enter a name, address, contract number, or other identifying text; the product provides no fields or uploads for them.
Builder data
For a builder claim, we store the business email, official domain, claim status, private token hash, submitted corrections, and timestamps. Verified builders may submit official updates. If they subscribe, we store payment-processor customer and subscription identifiers, status, community, and billing-period dates. Card data is handled by the hosted payment processor and does not pass through our site.
Service providers
Cloudflare hosts the site, Worker, and D1 database. If activated, a transactional email provider delivers builder verification links and GGL’s payment processor hosts checkout and billing. Their processing is governed by their own terms and privacy notices.
Retention and sharing
We use data to operate, secure, measure, and improve this experiment. We do not sell buyer identities or route buyer leads. Small builder-analytics segments are suppressed below five events. We retain operational and business records only as long as reasonably needed for validation, security, accounting, disputes, or legal obligations.
Your choices
You can use buyer comparisons without an account, decline quote-observation storage, clear browser session storage, or contact hello@good-guys-labs.com about a builder claim or privacy request. This notice will be revisited before any document upload or buyer-authorized lead product is considered.
